New Thermal Challenges for Data Centers

Modern Data Centers have to host a variety of equipment from simple telco racks to blade servers.  These varying types of equipment place a much greater demand on the Data Center cooling infrastructure than in years past.  The simple fact is heat density can range from 10 Watts per sq. ft. in one area while 30 feet away the density can be 300W per sq. ft.  In adddition, virtualization and new server technology scales power consumption (and heat load) to match the compute load.  The ability of your infrastructure to cope with this will determine how quickly your deployments come online and what it will cost your organization in hard dollars.  AdaptivCool's Room Scale Intelligent Cooling, a simple but highly effective airflow management technology, is leading the way to trouble-free and efficient on-demand cooling, freeing resources and operating capital to your bottom line.

These images below show a data center before using RSIC and after using RSIC.  The installation of intelligent data center cooling eliminated data center hot spots, by reducing the hot spot temperature by nearly 20 degrees Farenheit.  This reduction in heat load helped reduce power consumption while allowing for the same compute load.
